Sort of about “collecting photographs” - Bettman!
Must be the basis for the much of the Getty Images. I’d read Bill Gates succeeded in owning the 11 million photos collection through his Corbis named company in 1995, added several other photo archives from France and Germany. Then in 2016 sold it to Unity Glory Intl. of Visual China Group, 3rd largest stock image provider in the world, it licensed Corbis’ images to Getty Images. When you click on any link for it (Bettman Archive or Corbis) Getty Images pops up.
”A Growing Business” section is great:

What led me to this was this image of the famous actress and the photographers w the cameras. Interesting. However she has a cone growing from her head. Lol synonymous with Bettman’s culling practice - the right kind of keeper! (1958 Bettman courtesy via The Guardian)
