Can you point me to where is better to buy film? Also if there are places to buy in bulk.

Thanks!

bhphotovideo.com, freestylephoto.biz are the two main places I buy film. If you're looking for more odd films try ultrafineonline.com and filmphotographystore.com. Ther are lots of other though.

Bulk - 100ft rolls - aren't really economical for Kodak and Ilford films; you save a bit, but many people don't consider the savings worth the effort.

If you want to buy 'bricks' of fresh-dated Kodak, Ilford and Fuji film then B&H, Adorama, Freestyle and Ultrafine are your best bets.

Respooled Eastman movie film is popular with some, as are films from the former Eastern Bloc. The FEB films can be a bit of a mystery as brand names for defunct firms get reused. The same holds for old Western European film brand names. Many FEB films show up as spur-of-the-moment limited edition brand names that are created for respooled out-dated surplus still & movie films. Try Fotoimpex, Ultrafine and Freestyle for a selection - look out, though, as the same film can be sold under the house brand, ADOX, Foma, Rollie, Lomography, (the list goes on and on) ... at very different prices.

Freestyle and Photo Warehouse/Ultrafine are long time major supporters of this website, and for that reason are worth considering.

I order from b&h, freestyle, roberts and mpex.

mpex has been getting most of my film orders recently.

All have similar prices, it depends on who has what I need and when I need it. Adorama and BH have free economy shipping deals for some items. OTOH, Freestyle has $8.99 FedEx Ground shipping for up to 50 rolls to continental US addresses. Here on the West Coast the “economy” from New York can take a week or more but the FedEx ground from LA is two or three days.

I use B and H except for Velvia 50 in 4x5 which is only available directly from Japan. I use Kumar to purchase those. You can contact him here. Kumar Brahmajosyula <uchinomishiharai@gmail.com>

color film ?
what format/size ?

usual suspects have been mentioned in this thread, Kumar is the best of the best, great person great seller.

Freestyle shipping rather expensive.
Really? I'm pretty sure if you only buy film it's a fairly low flat rate ($8.99). I just grabbed a bunch of nearly expired (still have a few months before the due date) Arista 400 for less than $3.50 a pop. The shipping was negligible.

The other thing with Freestyle is they’ll ship all the different chemicals. There are a bunch of them that B&H won’t ship. So I buy most of my film from B&H and my chemicals from Freestyle.

bhphotovideo.com
freestylephoto.biz
adorama.com

Watch the tax and shipping charges, YMMV

FWIW, Adorama seems to have a reputation for listing things as "in stock" until you purchase them, at which the items turn out to be out of stock (and remain so for months). It has happened to me more than once, and I've read it happening to others as well. Freestyle & B&H seem to be more accurate when they list something as "in stock." Back in the day I would buy from Adorama regularly. Sadly, I no longer trust them to have what they claim to have.

Samys.com should also be considered for film. Free shipping over $50 (IIRC). There have been time when their price for Ilford 120 was the lowest I could find.

Ultrafineonline also have an etsy shop where they have expired/oddball films on sale (shipping is also cheaper their in some cases, depending on what film(s) you buy compared from ordering it from their site).
