Hello All,
Its awful good to see real film & printing/scanning. I'm so burnt out on seeing image forums with saturation editing 3 clicks beyond incinerate. ColColt's lovely color portraits were just the medicine needed. 'Haven't sloshed chemicals in too many decades, but I'm at least back into mono w/ a 100' roll of Ilford. What I might lack in natural talent - I try to make up for by alot of hard work. 'About 400+ frames in the last 4 wks. 'Still have to make space for the already acquired Beseler. Sink/plumbing are the big items to take care of.
'Have to say thanks in advance 'cause I'm learning alot from just lurking (I'm a junkie that way). I very much appreciate the knowledge you give so freely. I'll be better behind the camera & in the darkroom because of it. If you have any thoughts about any images I post - I very much covet your feedback.
'Hope to not be too awkward 'til I learn the ropes here.
Welcome to APUG! I see you've already submitted something for the MSA, which is great. As soon as I can find the right film holders, I'll do the same (hopefully soon). Looking forward to seeing more of your work!
All, Thank you for your kind welcome. I've learned more in the last couple weeks than I have on other boards over months. 'Still don't have darkroom set up, but film (mono) is again being marinated. With the demise of positive paper, I doubt I'll slosh color transparencies.
I love the skill levels shown & the depth of knowledge on the media. I'm devouring past articles & forum threads.
I sure appreciate your kind help - especially the feedback on shots.
I believe it's intentional; one has to have a good sense of humor about the weather to reside here. There's a joke I recall, "Two consecutive days of rain in Seattle is known as a 'weekend'."
Hehhehe that sounds just like the West of Scotland, where I lived for nearly 3 years. It can make for really dramatic pictures though, if you're prepared to put up with being rained on a lot. Welcome to APUGland!
