Hello everyone, im looking to buy a Fed 2, it must be cla'd and in overall good condition, i keep searching for the most reputable seller and i have kept oleg from okvintage, fedka, and Hero4g on ebay, but i can't find reliable info on who will sell me a caméra that will last, i asked on reddit, they said that most ebay sellers are a lottery but i read some very good posts about hero4g, that he even offers a warranty, and a lot of good posts for Oleg, that he is a trie master at repairing fsu cameras, but he dosent have a fed2 with collapsible lens kit, and some photos make the camera look like it has taken a Beating or two, it's not a problem as long as its perfect mechanically as it just adds to the charm of an old soviet machine, but the ones at fedka seem more mint, although almost double the price, and they have a kit with a collapsible 50mm.
So is oleg the best guy for a long lasting camera, or is hero4g/fedka better?

And another question i have, do you guys have an opinion on the quality and practicality of collapsible lenses ? It must have more moving parts so one could assume its more prone to failing, and i really want one because its really compact and beautiful once closed, but i can get a kit with the box, the lether case with a protruding bit for the normal lens along with the camera at okvintage for 100€, which is really nice, overall i would prefer a better cla'd caméra with the normal lens than a mint looking collapsible kit from a less expert seller, what do you think ?

Budget is irrelevant since its cheap enough at all three shops.

Can't personally vouch for them but yurets.perfect and grizzly33bear are two reputable eBay-sellers from Ukraine that offer serviced Feds, Zorkis and Kievs. They appear to have their own workshops and technician(s).

I've owned two collapsible Industar 22s and are sturdy and overall have a good reputation. If you are concerned about the lens barrel as a moving part, I don't think there's much that can go wrong with it? It's just a metal tube that locks into place.

Have a look at this website in Holland https://fotohandeldelfshaven.nl/english translation They deal in nothing else but film cameras and occasionally they do get some very nice old Eastern Bloc cameras. They produce an E mail update with new stock they get every week usually on a Tuesday, so it may be worthwhile signing up for that.

I have actually visited the shop in old Delft and it is an absolute goldmine of old and not so old classic pieces of equipment.

The staff all speak English so sending them an E mail is no problem for them. Good luck.

I just got one from the Bay, the seller is in Ukraine, named M42 Photo. Easily met my expectations as to quality and postage to New Zealand was trouble free.
