Best disposable camera for use in a nightclub

As the title says! It is going to be my 18th in a couple of months but I really don't want to take my SLR into a nightclub, plus I am clumsy when I am drunk! Instead, I am looking for the best quality disposable camera that I can find, which will work well in the light setting of a nightclub. I'd say the film needs to be at least 400 to 800 asa and of course a flash will be needed!
Any advise as to which ones would be best for this purpose?

Any number of Canon,Nikon,Olympus etc point and shoot cameras with built in flash are available for a dollar or two at thrift stores here(U.S.)Get one that takes a AA battery and most have a flash as well.

The Kodaks have 800 speed film. I know this because I broke them apart and used the film.

That is a pretty good idea.

Thrift stores, garage sales, Craigslist, etc.

Buy an inexpensive point and shoot camera and a some inexpensive film.

Buy a good film like Portra and an cheap camera. May be one forgives the other.

I think I will go the point and shoot route, from research I can only ever find one with a glass lens, a plastic lens is pointless! Would the Kodak portra suit this purpose? It also means I could take a roll of b/w with me too!

You can get the FujiFilm QuickSnap Flash 800 35mm Single Use Camera, 2pk (54 exposures) for under $11 in the US. They should be 'nightclub proof'.

I was going to recommend a Canon AF35ML and checked the classifieds. Didn't find one but the person who had sold a couple said the Canon MC was her favorite.

Or maybe a water proof version PS, like the one I am waiting for, a Nikon Action touch. it has a 35mm lens so it's a bit wide which is nice for clubs. has a built in flash too.

I do have 4 SLRS that I use 2 of which being my favourites but in a club they won't really suit so I think the point and shoot route will be the better one!

Don't bother with color. You won't get the speed you need in the dark. Get some Ilford Delta 3200 or TMax P3200.

I got good shots from a friend's BDay with a Fuji disposable famera. I have dosens of cameras, but disposables are a particular joy, so after trying Kodak, Ferrania, agfa, etc, I found Fujifilm QuickSnap 400 flasf to be the best, since it has a more convenient flash switch, a contraption around the lens, which prevents you from shading the lens with your finger, a sharper, yet plastic lens and a bit better build. The only downside is that it can not be reloaded. Sorry for not posting samples, but all are personal.
Please also note that the fuji disposable in your area might be different from what I used. Mine was ordered from UK, and I have only used one till now.
BTW, take a few, as 27 shots are certainly not enough for a party.

Easy, no hassle route: get a couple of Fuji Quick Snaps at any Walmart. They are like $4 each, and loaded with 400 film. Slightly more expensive ones have 800 film. read the side of the box, it tells you what is in there.

Better Route: Get an Olympus Stylus Epic and load it with Kodak Portra 800 film. The Epic (called mju-ii outside North America), was arguably the best PS film compact ever made from many perspectives - speed and ease of use, functionality, and most importatntly, image quality. I have several, and still use them all the time. Key advantages for your usage: has a fast f2.8 35mm lens (super sharp), and uses a super precise and lightning fast IR autofocus system that focuses in complete darkness (uses an active IR beam). Small, fits perfectly in the palm of your hand (or pocket) too. Waterproof, should some beverages spill/splash.
Look online, there are many reviews of this famous camera. Highly recomended, and I think you would find many other uses for it (those times when you dont want to risk your more expensive cameras).

It seems people like the fuji quick snaps... I plan to go the cheap point and shot but might get one or two to go alongside I will be developing c41 at a one man lab whom I've gotten friendly with... Nt letting boots, asda or any other retailer ruin any more film!

I'd need to get a point and shoot with iso 1000 setting to use delta 3200 so I might give that a shot, too. I will do dummy runs with all methods before my birthday!

Another fun cam for night club is the Lomography fisheye 2, assuming you like fisheye phots, which I know many people don't.

It has lots of fun features for using in a dark club such as a very short close focus and 180 degree angle of view for getting all your friend in when on a packed dance floor. It also has an internal flash and external hot shoe, one one is x-sync and the other is second curtain. This means that if you use both in conjunction with b mode, you get cool double exposures with nice tracer effects from the club lights thrown in for good measure.

If this doesn't appeal the I would go down the quality point and shoot route.

Olympus XA and some portra 400 or 800. If you use the 400 you can expose as 1600 and push 2 stops, if you use the 800 you can still expose as 1600 by pushing one stop. I haven't seen Portra expose at 3200.

I stand corrected. Portra 400 will expose to 3200 quite well. That's pushed 3 stops!

I thought the XA topped at 800? The XA4 allows 1600 if you bypass the DX contacts.

I got 20 point and shoots for table cameras for a wedding. These were anywhere from $50 to $200 when new, and the thrift store sells them used for $4! Definitely the way to go. And they are worthy of good film. I recently tried Fuji Superia Xtra 400 in one, it was not a bad combination if you are on a budget. Obviously Portra 400 would be way better.
