Best colour film for catching autumn......

This is purely my opinion, so take it FWIW. If you're going to do c-41, personally, I very much prefer Kodak Ektar 100 for landscapes. It's not as vivid and punchy as E-6 films, but for a CN film, it's *definitely* up there. It's also really low grain and has respectable dynamic range/exposure latitude. I've made it my standard CN film for everything except portraits (portra is best for that) and where I don't have enough light and can't add light, then my second goto is Kodak Portra 400.

Ok old thread but we can see same motive now.
The question to what film is based on
best color look you will get with different emulsions?
Simple answer to this is given before :
The more saturation the more suitability
to autumn shootings ?

I would not agree with this.
It is more a question of "Interpetation of Autumn"
Try to avoid the simple method "SATURATION" and hurry up to go new ways.
For example bw - wow how to show autumn in bw ?
Yes it is not easy but this is a more big step to become a more proffessional photographer.
If you shot just for fun don't worry about colors : Every film is able to give nice pictures with real autumn colors.

An other example : Avoid saturation and
show pale functional colors as often used
from shots of machines/technology !
Easy to handle with expired Fuji films.

Go different ways please !

I've always liked Fuji superia for autumn colours. Reds, yellows, orange really pop and blues tend to be very quite saturated so the sky has sharp contrast to the trees. It's inexpensive, produces nice results, and *ahem* scans *cough* well too without strange colour casts like ektar can sometimes have. I find Portra's colours really subdued. I know many people love it but it's not personally my favorite for nature/landscapes. Kodak gold is a nice warm film too- kind of pushes the yellow/orange/brown aspect of fall colours more so than the reds though. Again, cheap.

Well - perhaps I should cover out a little more what I meant.
"Go different ways" is a bit an abstract term.

A film for catching autumn total unexpected is KODAK EIR ....

Very hart to get in good condition - I know.

Just look what Richard Mosse decided
while having documented "way of life in congo" :

A total different "view" with "wrong colors" - so it often has not to be about
the "right" film wich is good to landscape
because of .....x y z.... in colors.
Sometimes the idea is the right key in photography.

But I know - with this example you have to get these stuff first :



And so it is nearly a mission impossible.

But...........this was only an example
