Hey everyone,

This has proved to be the best-apt section for this in the past with my other questions relating to camera repair and Boston (when I was living there) but things have changed!

I recently moved to NYC. Who are the best at each of the following within the areas:
-Camera repair (I know there are many specialties, but best all around and best you know on a specific issue?)
-Development work? I have a small lab in my hometown in NJ that I love to support, but for instance they don't process slide film. Is there a one stop shop for development (and self-development products once I learn) here in NYC?
-Film?

I know B&H and Adorama carry film at good prices and offer a lot of what I'm talking about, but I'd just like to be aware of other potentially smaller shops that I could support and build a relationship with.

Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the neighborhood. Check out unique photo in Fairfield. I usually pick up chemistry and film there for convenience. They process c41 but not e6

For labs, you can try Duggal. They've been around for forever, and have a good reputation. I used them for Scala processing (b/w transparency material from AGFA) when that was still around, and they did it fast, and at a very reasonable price.

I'll have to look into that.

Do they have a wide array of films? I mostly shoot 35mm. My little lab back in my hometown has both processes though.

for repairs and service try PhotoTech at 360 W 36th St in Manhattan, they are couple of blocks from B&H
also Camera Center 138 W 31 St in Manhattan

to buy stuff chems and film get them from B&H and Adorama (I go to B&H some people prefer Adorama)

I develop at home my B&W and color negs but for slides I go to LTI in 30th between Park Ave and Madison (http://www.lti-lightside.com/)
They start the batch at 11 AM so drop your film before that and you can pick it at 3
