Hi!

I am doing some research for my sister. She is looking for a small fixed lens point and shoot with good dynamic range, ability to shoot raw, as small and lightweight as possible, and preferably an evf, although the evf is not imperative. Most of the newer cameras in this category are too much, so I've been looking at options from previous years.

Lumix lx3 appears to be the best option I've found.

Any other ideas? (I'm a film shooter, so I'm basically clueless on digital cameras)

Thanks so much!

I have the LX-5 and I like it a lot. But it's not that small when you add the EVF. Still the best compromise for me when I value size over ultimate quality. Not that the quality is bad at all, but it is limited in high ISO shooting compared to a DSLR. I think the LX-7 is a stop better, and the LX-3 about a stop worse as far as noise goes at high ISO.
