bessler darkroom timer stopped

never really had a problem with this timer except that the button switch sometimes didn't work right, so I used a footswitch instead. now all of a sudden the footswitch and button to make it "time" stopped altogether. is there a way to remedy this? you know like a "reset button" if this happens ... any suggestions would be helpful.
I've already plugged and unplugged the footswitch and the timer, switched it from focus to time, tried the button and footswitch with left foot instead of right, tried it with the darkroom ceiling light on and off, unplugged the cord and shook the cord to get the bad vibes out, even did it with the cord tied in a loose overhand knot so it didn't do it "too fast" I have had that problem before. .. anyways any suggestions ( like a hidden button ) would be great to know about !

well, I unscrewed the 4 screws took the case off of the "guts" and it seemed the button was "stuck" on its own ? I fiddled with it, and it released and now it seems to work again. im just using the footpad for now on so there is no chance of the button getting stuck again. nice timer but the button ) at least on mine ( was wonky.

DeoxiT Contact cleaner is what you need; it's the cat's meow for cleaning up electronics and it won't hurt plastic!

Kind of pricey but used sparingly (it really doesn't take much), this can should last several years.

I bought my can to restore a vintage Pioneer audio amp that had one channel out and an extremely crackly volume knob. Just a few spurts and a few spins and it worked like new.
