Bessa I 6x9 (120 folder) shutter button lock jam

Hi
I purchased one of these a while back and today I went to use it only to discover that the shutter does not unlock when I advance the wind knob. The little arrow remains pointing to the left (indicating film wind needs to occur) but winding the knob (which I think still feels normal) does not "unlock" the shutter release interlock.

Anyone experience this, and is it a relatively simple procedure to pull apart and have a look?

Open the film window and turn the wind knob, do you see the backing paper moving?
Open the camera in total darkness and rewind the film on the supply spool.
Backing paper not moving when the wind knob is turned, reload the film turning the tongue of the paper opposite the direction of wind, wind until the paper coming in overlaps the tongue, position the start arrows, close the back and wind to frame 1. If the shutter is still locked out remove the film in total darkness and rewind onto the supply spool and secure with tape or a rubberband.
Paper moving, shutter not unlockimg- with the back open check the film path at the supply side and identify the wheel or mechanism that should turn when the film is advanced. Turn it by hand and see if the shutter unlocks. If the mechanism turns but the shutter does not unlock then the top cover will need to be removed to find the cause.

Hello I just wanted to mention that I have a Bessa I. Some Voigtlander cameras require that you have film in them. This is not one of them unless there were different versions.
My Bessa advances and shoots just fine with no film at all. the film advance only goes one way. So I dont think there is a problem of film mis-loaded or something.
Beyond that, I dont think I can be much help. I have not worked on the bessa cameras at all.
Most top covers are fairly easy to remove though. I bet if you remove the advance knob there will be screws under it, and then remove the ring around the shutter release button.
I dont see any others.

yes, that is the case ... (or was the case). None of the versions of my Bessa I have required film in the camera, and a careful examination of the interior shows no possible interactions. Unless this is one of the models which had an IR film sensor (as FogHorn Leghorn would say ... "I say that's a Joke Son")

Yes that's where I was going to go next ... so thanks for that (meaning thanks for confirming that is the most appropriate next course of action). I'll report the results later (when I get around to it, which may be much later as I'm changing country again in 2 weeks).

The last I used the camera it worked well (err ... 4 years ago)
