I've never been a fan of these things. I always want to double check for dust etc. My question is I know the 120 unit is designed for 6x7, 6x6, 645. Can the unit be modified to handle 6x9 negatives?
Anything can be done if you have enough money, but the 120 Negatrans has sliding mask that move in and out for 6x6 to 6x7 that are on the ends of the negatives so you'd have to cut all that out, and then cobble together a larger pressure plate. You could look for a Carlwen 120 rapid shift carrier or a similar unit from Omega (then adapt it easily).
They are so cheap it is probably worth just getting one to make the attempt. Be aware there are two versions, medium format for the 23C and large format for the 45.
I seem to recall when I had one that it didn't lend itself to simple modification for 6x9, I ended up buying a dedicated 6x9 carrier.

The only difference is in the location of the pins that center the device. And at one time the 120 Negatrans was drilled for both sets of locator pints.
