I have had Two Beseler-45 Color Heads for the last year or so.
They both printed very similar to each other.
Via some parts from Craigslist, i put together a third 45s.
This head printed WAY Different than the other two.
If i printed something at 20"...40M...and ...f/11.0 on these first two.....it would go 15"...90M...and f/11.0 on this "new" head.
I swapped Lamps and Chambers.....it was the Chamber.
If you compared one of the older heads with this new head.......turn it on and open the bellows and looked at the light that was being emitted.....this new head was much brighter and the Magenta looked much cleaner.
Installing one of the "old" chambers into this new head made them all print "The Same".
No big surprise i suppose.
But what i found odd was, the chamber that shows Brighter and with cleaner filtering, its plastic lens.....if you (turned it upside down) looked at a reflection of a light bulb, this new chamber was Much More Opaque, and almost looked "damaged" compared to the other two. It looks as though somebody rolled a "Porcupine" over the bottom lens......lots of little pin holes in the lens.
The other two are much smoother, and look like a damn mirror in comparison.
I would have thought the opposite..
