OK, here's a newbie question about color heads. I stole a Beseler MX45 with a Dichro head right out from under PhotoPete's nose recently and I haven't had a place to use it yet. It had three lenses with it and I got excited. I looked inside, however, and the mixing chamber says 4x5. I know that there are others- 35, 6x6, 6x9... Do I have to have them? Where does one find such a thing? The big E? It has negative carriers for all sizes and 50, 80 and 135 mm Schneider lenses.

No you can do just fine with the 4x5 mixer. All the other ones do is put the light in a smaller area. You might gain a stop going to smaller mixing chamber, believe me you'll never miss it!

Wow!That was fast. Thanks, Gary. Just the answer I was hoping for.

The light source is very bright. I use the 4x5 mixing chamber for all formats with no problems. I would not want the smaller mixing chambers. Be prepared for alot of light leaks. I use alot of black electrical tape to compensate.
