  • Anybody know what size jam nut and which Beseler lens board are required for this lens?
  • Also, any opinions on its quality?
  • Any suggestions for alternatives that would fit a Beseler 45 VXL or MXT enlarger with the 8x10 conversion. Thanks.

Probably is 70mm. My understanding is that the Beseler 240 HD is actually a Rodenstock process lens; and that the HD lenses are very good image makers.

My 240mm Rodenstock Rodagon takes a 72mm retaining ring.

One of my best tools is a pair of vernier calipers. Extremely inexpensive plastic ones that are quite accurate are available from places like Harbor Freight, and Google I'm sure will list a plethora. You can measure lens barrels when you go to the store for a lens cap, the thread diameters, the depth of holes, and just about anything when you need to get something that fits something else. They come in models that read both metric and fractional.
