Beseler 23CII 6x4.5 negative carrier

Well after 2 attempts to win a carrier on Evilbay, I decided to make one from a full frame 35mm carrier I wasn't needing.
After using a dremel, files and hacksaw blade, I made one.
Works great. :wizard:
I have made a lot of things for the darkroom and this is just another example of adapting to what you sometimes need.

Post anything you have made that you couldn't get or find on this post. It might inspire me to make something I haven't made but could use.

I've made negative carriers out of mat board.
I have a box full of antique negatives of my grandparents.
Some of the neg's are a really weird size.
Thus make a carrier. The mat board worked great.

In the past I have made carriers from mat boards.
On this one (6x4.5) I used a 35mm FF carrier that I didn't need. It worked out great. Painted it flat black and it is all I need for that format. It took a couple of hours to grind and file but I saved myself a lot of money and used something I wasn't using or needing.

I saw a seller on ebay today who had used a laser cutter to copy Durst SIVOPAR 66 inserts.
Only thing that would concern me was that it was in bright aluminium rather than black anodised:

Glad to hear matboard works OK - I had the same idea for a 6x6 carrier for the 23CII someone just gave me.

Matt board will do. You have to make sure the neg. is in the center of the opening. I have made them before with a flap that opens from the front and used tape for the hinge part.
