Well, yes, I thought of that. But, not finding one locally, I decided to give this one last shot. I made another print, flipping the bulb over at Matt suggested. No difference so...

I went through the enlarger alignment again. Then I made two prints, no filters, no negative, just the 2-1/4x2-1/4 carrier, the condenser set on that size, 80mm lens stopped all the way down (f/64). The first print is with a new Eiko bulb:



All I did is change the bulb to a new Osram and did the same exposure:


As you can see, a much cleaner distribution in the second image. There might be more tweaking I can do in the future but for now I guess I can live with this and just burn/dodge if the image needs it.

I am posting two images I made after this in the gallery, one titled Post and one titled Flanges.
