Hello all!

i recently purchased a used beseler 23c III-XL enlarger. Once I got it home, I unbowed it and started to give it a look over. I've got almost zero darkroom experience and have a couple questions I was hoping you might be able to help me out with.

1) there is a gap between the lower negative stage and the condenser when it is setup for 35mm negatives. I would guess the gap is going to be a problem but I'm not sue how to close it. Do you know if it's an issue and how to close it?

2) the condenser is not able to be lowered for any negative greater than 6x6 without being stopped by the lower negative stage. Do you know what needs to be done to allow this?

Here are some pictures that will hopefully help clarify the above...

thanks!
Matt

You can check with KHB Photografix, but they will want to sell you the manual.

Can you give us a photo or two from the front, so we can identify which head this is?

It looks to me to be a colour head.

And by the way, 77 x 100 pixels is smaller than necessary . 500 x 700 should be fine.

And welcome to APUG!
