I just went to make a print and noticed my focusing knob and shaft just freely spins and i cant focus now. Can this be an easy fix or should i just toss it in the dumpster and buy another one since they are so cheap? Below is a photo of the knob and model # plate.

Thanks.

The setscrews that secure the drive wheels to the focus shaft have likely loosened and need to be tightened.

See the drawing on page 6 figure 11 under “Adjustment for Condenser or Focus Setting”. The parts “B” in the drawing are the drive wheels and their setscrews.

Note: The same drawing serves for the upper condenser adjustment and the lower focusing stage drive mechanism.

Maybe, just maybe, you could offer it to someone who is capable of performing a simple repair.

No Bernard.. I'd rather toss it in the dumpster than turn 2 screws. I might not be capable of turning 2 screws. Maybe, just maybe..
