Hello.
Anyone know anything about these lenses? Are they good? What should be the price of one?
I'm interested in old brass ones called extra-rapide N4 (Aplanat I presume) wide-angle. Will it cover 4x5?
Thanks everyone.

The trade name Perigraphe covers several design types with different maximum apertures. Extra rapide narrows the range a little.

I couldn't put Fabre's (1897) text into this message, to get it go to http://cnum.cnam.fr/CGI/redir.cgi?8KE304 , click on exportation du document, then click on Tome 6. When you have the PDF, look for section 1322. Start by clicking on the bookmark Eurygraphe Lacour and page down.

These lenses are very uncommon and little known. I don't think any of the regulars on the French LF forum know much about them, but asking is cheap. www.galerie-photo.info

To answer one of your questions, the #4's focal length is 144 mm. Hardly a wide angle on 4x5.

Thank You for information.
Too bad I learnt french poorly at school. How do You think is this lens worth investing in it, like 100EUR or not?

I have no idea how much you might be able to sell it for.

All I know about the market for Perigraphes is that modern (post-1912 and especially 1947-50 or so) f/14 Perigraphes are good lenses that sell for peanuts. Modern f/6.8 Perigraphes are also good lenses that sell for peanuts. YMMV. There seems to be no collector interest at all and little user interest. But I could be mistaken.
