On a weekend trip to one of the few well stocked shop remained in Rome, I've come across some 35 mm film labelled Bergger BPF 200 and 400. I've bought a couple of each just for a test. The only thing I know right by now is that this film is rather expensive (25% more than a roll of Tri-X). Can you tell me something more on what I should expect from these films?
Just made a quick jump on their site, btw only the french part seems to be updated. They only say that both films have been specifically studied for medium and large format.
I bought 3 rolls of Bergger 200 to try in 35mm and used only one. what you can expect is grain, grain and more grain.
Delta 3200, Tmax 3200 both have finer grain than this ei 100 film. It's ok for sheet film sizes but nothing else!
The Bergger (and Forte) films are designed to be very similar to the older, silver-rich emulsions like Super-XX. The end results will be very dependant on the developer used - PMK good, XTOL bad.
