How long a strip of film are you going to use? What you will have trouble with is the strip of 120 film, as it will curl up and not co-operate unless it is fixed firmly in place. Otherwise it will not stand up and open. you don't want to fit it to the curve of the can, that is tricky.
I use 120 strips in lozenge tin pinholes I make. I get narrow plastic paper binding strips from a stationary store and cut them to 6cm in length. Each end of the strip of cut film is slipped inside the plastic supports. Then using masking tape, the plastic strips are taped inside the tin, hopefully with the tape only on the plastic, not on the film.
I don't know what the diameter of a beer can is, the lozenge tins are 6cms, it seems to me. They're also 6cm high which is convenient. The can is probably at least the same diameter if not larger, that part will be fine.
Working to fix the strips inside the tin is fiddly business. Good luck, the results are worth it.
