Well yes, they turn up, but folks don't want to ship them even if I'm willing to pay the money, thus my comment about needing to check Craigslist. I did that for a while but was so disgusted with ads for equipment in sad shape or posted by people who hadn't a clue what it was or that it WAS in sad shape etc. that I sort of drifted away from it.
And as I shoot 4x5 whenever I have time, a Beseler 23 wouldn't be something I'd snatch up. Excellent enlarger, but I have an Omega DII/2 (someone put a D2V variable lamphouse on a II chassis - and I recently bought a "spare" D2 crank chassis, so eventually I'll make a "frankenlarger" out of the two) so I'm set. I've never owned or printed with a color head and printed plenty of color with filters. A tad slower but really pretty insignificant compared to the total process time. Mostly I want one for BW printing, oddly enough, for the diffusion light source. I have an old cold light head but it has the usual warm up and drift issues and more importantly is WAY too blue for VC paper. I tried a diffusion panel over the lower condenser which works, but cuts printing speed intolerably. So...I print with a condenser until the right one comes along.
