Beach Time & Provia

Am I asking for trouble here?
Planning to take a

• Leica with a built in meter
• Nikon SB-E flash
• Provia 100f
• Provia 400X

to Okinawa. I expect it to be extremely sunny most of the time. I will spend time on the beach or on boats.
The idea is to shoot Provia 100f either at 100 or 200 ISO and the 400X at 1600 ISO at night.

I am not sure about needing an 81A filter for this type of situation.
I've shot this combo of films at California beaches before and got some,not all, bluish results. That was however with my Olympus XA2, not the Leica.

Sounds good to me I think you'll be pleased with the Provia 100F. I've heard good things about the 400X too, but never got around to trying it before it was discontinued.

What kind of trouble do you expect to have?

FWIW, I almost always shoot Provia (100F and 400X) with the 81A, especially during the daytime. I find the effect very subtle and I prefer the look most of the time (depends on the subject of course).

well, trouble as in low latitude film and high contrast scenes due to the sun.
As I'll be shooting on a rangefinder, I won't be able to use graduated ND filters either.
