Bausch & Lomb movie camera (What is this thing?)

Anyone know anything about this Bausch & Lomb, I'm assuming, movie camera? I can't even seem to figure out how to unlatch the side to look inside.

I assume it is a registration camera. May be still or cine.

More detailed photos would be nice.
Registration cameras typically have studs or so to fix them in position. I only see something at the front that might be a threaded bolt with knurled nut. That camera seems to have "feet" at the underside, which is strange. Could you describe them?

The knurled nut and bolt release the front bottom feet, which extend out. As far as I can tell the back feet do not come out. This does not seem to unlock the side.

I assume at the top is a flipable handle from bent wire.

It is a bit tiring to ask for each detail...
So, there is aside of that knob no other control/actuator than that cylindrical thing at the side?

The side of the case seemingly is arrested by means of these two holes at the undeside. Could be holes taking springloaded pins from the side.

Since it has feet that elevate the front of the unit, I'd guess that this is a projector of some kind, rather than a camera.

Yes, but a projector needs electricity and cooling, and of course the slider/film spools.

However, there are slide projectors where the casing can be flipped open and the cooling vents/ribs are located inside as the slider. If even the electrical connector would be located inside the casing then in its basic design it would like this thing, though the proportions would be different and they all have a symmetrical front.
And in this case it does not seem there is an easy to open casing.

A projector would have a focusing lens. Also something the OP has not unveiled yet.

From the first picture I was not sure whether that bent thing at the top was something mechanical or just a bent sticker.

It likely is a lock. Try bending it up. The side then should pivot out on two pins inserted in the base plate.

that looks like one of those cameras department stores used to use when you returned an item.
it probably is fixed focus ( mug shot ) and it has a spring loaded self winding auto advance. the cylinder
and button on the side .. the cylinder might turn / click advance, the button releases the tension.
as AgX said the little chrome piece on the top is a lock for the side of the box, lift it slightly to release the pin ( you can see it )
and the side might drop down / release. its probably not much inside just a guillotine shutter ( like most all box cameras )
a take up reel and spot for the film. maybe 35mm film?
looking forward to seeing the insides !

I know I’m new and this is an old thread, but any chance of seeing the inside of this unit? I just acquired one that’s almost exactly the same, but it’s a 35mm filmstrip projector.

Here are photos of mine. The pot metal mechanism that controlled advancing the film broke off and was lost long ago. The rest of the pot metal film frame hasn’t fared much better as it is JB welded back together. You can’t really tell in these photos.
