I would like to buy some 'fourth generation Eneloop', aka, Panasonic Eneloop (HR-3UQ for AA and HR-4UQ for AAA) batteries for cameras, light box, etc. I need around 12-16 AA and 4 AAA. Is there any UK seller, other than Amazon (UK), that has better offer? ... Also, which charger should I get? I'm a bit confused.
Costco here in US always seems to have the best prices on the Eneloops, especially when periodically on sale. Not sure if their UK warehouses carry them.
I think the new model numbers for the Panasonic 4th generation Eneloops are BK-3MCC andBK-4MCC for the AA and AAA models - they can be recharged up to 2100 times.
Thanks Fred. Another mistake - I should've created this thread after sleeping!
FYI, I did find that these 4th gen batteries are made in China too, which, according to this thread, are not as good as the ones made in Japan. Now, it seems, I'll have to ask the seller about it before buying.
I see quite a few mentioned on Amazon Maha MH-C9000, Powerex MH-C9000, Technoline BL-700, Technoline BC1000, Foxnovo F-4S and few more. Any advice on the charger?
When did Panasonic take over manufacture of these from Sanyo? I see these regularly here in TH, but haven't taken the time to see where they're made (I have quite a few on hand that are Made in Japan) as mine are still going strong.
I'll have to check that out next time I'm passing the battery isle. . . .
If you check the reviews on Amazon, their house-brand batteries seem to be Eneloops. There are some serious battery-freaks on there doing some extensive testing. In some cases, it seems like Amazon gets the best of the Eneloops. the Amazon brand works great for me, I go through quite a lot of AAs and AAAs for video gear - monitors, audio recorders, wireless, etc. And LED flashlights, all over the house.
Thanks Carter. It looks like Amazon (UK) has Japanese Eneloops. So I'll be placing my order by next week.
Interresting pricing details: I saw the 3rd gen Eneloop batteries last week in a local camera shop in Dhaka and was successful in resisting buying them. Interestingly, they had two prices of the identical item, simply because they were imported from Thailand and India. The ones from India were about 300 Taka cheaper (per 4 batts). Getting them from Amazon (UK) will be even cheaper than those 3rd gen. ones. So I'm quite glad that I resisted the temptation.
