You can
go here for a pretty extensive set of info on your camera. I am not an Olympus expert, so any and all advice here is general "where to get info" stuff (I am not even sure your Oly needs merc batts) but like with most cameras of this vintage, Google your camera with a "+manual" in the search, and you will have several sources of free (and many more for sale) manuals (usually in PDF format or scans of actual manual).
As far as mercury replacements, do a search right here on APUG - there have been many threads on the subject - there is simply no way to give you all the info from all of them, but its all there if you look.
Just to help you look, try Wein Cell, try hearing-aid batteries, Zinc-Air as your key-words.
There are also places that will recalibrate your camera to use modern 1.5v cells, as well as voltage reducing adaptors. There are many, many options, you will have to pick the one that works best for you.
