Baseboard Stuck on my new Durst S45 / S138

I slackened the baseboard locking knob and stepped on the pedal and if I didn't know that the baseboard was supposed to be movable I'd think it was welded to the column.

Anyone ever run across this?

Could the previous owner have tightened something that I'm neglecting to loosen?

The same has happened with mine. It moved easily last time I moved it (a couple of years ago), but when I tried it again it wouldn't budge.

This worked..from the previous owner: "Make sure the thumb screws on the column (at the baseboard mount) are loose----Then pump the pedal 2-3 three times slowly-put slight down pressure on the board-then gently lift to position. I did that to lower it the day before you came. Let me know. TC" It was more than slight but seems to have done the trick. Now I just need some fresh grease. Hope this can help others.

Thank you Jersey Vic. I'll file that away for future problems. My table gets a little more exercise than Ole's. I leave the cold light head an inch from the 7' 2" ceiling and move the table up and down as the first rough adjustment for a new size print. As my Doctor says about old man joints, motion is the best lotion. Grease ain't bad either, but I haven't gotten it to penetrate the knees.
