ballhead cover

I'm looking for a cover for my new Manfrotto 468MGRC4 Hydrostatic Ball head with RC4 plate.

My tripod and head usually live in my car boot, and if it's like anything like the knackered old ballhead it replaces, will be dragged up mountains, dropped in bogs, beaches etc , so I'm looking for something to give it a bit of extra protection from muck and sand. Any suggestions?

Am uk based, so uk stockists preferred.

Sorry I don't have any useful suggestions - I use the alloy octopus and it sleeps naked in the car boot.

I use a soft padded leather lens bag with a drawstring to protect my Giotto ball head, and I keep it in a Manfrotto tripod case.

P.S. Be careful Gavin when going into a shop and asking for a " Ball head cover ", you may be surprised at the reaction you get

For my Manfrotto 190CXPro carbon fibre and Gitzo GT0931 Basalt tripods I use neoprene Sea to Summit round-base stuff sacks secured with a drawstring which work a treat protecting the ballheads from the ingress of dirt but importantly, shielding the overall head from bumps during e.g. bushwalking when the tripod is stored outside the back. An extra strong reinforced rubber tab on the bags allow them to be hung from somewhere and used tostore lens caps, filters, blower brushes, etc. The sacks are available in a large number of sizes, in round or flat base, drawstring or toggle.

In the UK, Burton McCall (http://www.burton-mccall.co.uk/ / email sales@burton-mccall.co.uk) is the distributor of these excellent items and are probably worth checking out.
