I buy lot 10 pack of 25 Delta 100 Ilford, that expired in dec 08, got this problem as attachment,
I shoot with that delta 100 and tmax, when washed the film the water a bit high temp about 29C, I also dev TMX 100 and washed at the same time but has no problem, anyone knows about what happened , many thanks
29°C is rather high for B&W films, it might soften the emulsion slightly and if your water's not that good could lead to particles adhering to the film. Tmax's hardening might be slightly different.
Looks like a wash problem though rather than a problem with the film itself, maybe you should be filtering your wash water.
I already filtered my tap water 2 filter 0.1 micron ( I forget what specification of my filter), yeah it's possible that kodak hardened differently from ilford, thanks for quick respond Ian
Have you examined the negs with a strong loupe? That could reveal a lot. Dirt and debris are pretty recognizable compared to processing or emulsion defects.
If the film was softened in the washing it would be more prone to dust etc at the drying stage. But it does look like dirt/dust. If it's a neg scan then any problem tends to be accentuated.
yeah I already examined with 10x loupe, if the dirt or debris cause it, the tmax will got the same problem, because i loaded my film holder at the same time and with the same changing bag, i always get dust in my film but never liket that, n never got any dirt in my holder or my changing bag, always clean both before loading film
Two tips, never load film in a changing bag and never wear a woollen sweater when loading film.
John Blakemore, the British photographer, always wears a fisherman's smock, this helps him keep his negs dust free, in fact he now wears one all the time
