Howdy all,

I have decided that I am sick and tired of trying to pull out/iron out creases in the plain backgrounds that I have, that its time to get at least one paper background.

Have people found the paper backgrounds durable enough - I.E., how much life have you gotten out of them?

Also, I want to make it flexible, so I had planned on getting a neutral grey one - I.E., reduce light to darken to near black, use gels to add colour (for colour photography). Would this be a good thing to do, especially for B&W (except for the Gels, of course!)?

Cheers

You turn a white backdrop into a grey background easily... just give your model 2 more f-stops of light than the background. I only have black and white backgrounds (making a white background look black is too much trouble).

On ebay I saw backdrops made of polypropylene, I guess they are more durable than paper and less prone to wrinkles than molleton but I don't know if they cause reflexes or have a structured surface.
