Back scanning with my Epson V850 but??

Hi,
Its been a while since I have used my Epson V850 scanner, and in that time I have moved house and dont have any of the spacer sheets that I had made previously. If I remember rightly (thats the issue there) I think I used TMAX or TRIAX to make the spacers but really cant remember............I only have HP5 right now so not sure if that will work?
What I was thinking of doing is getting 2 thin sheets of gas cut to the size of the scanner bed then sandwich the 8x10 Negative in-between ..............what do you think??

Sheet film is usually .007 inch thick, also called 7 mil.

If you use 2 sheets of acrylic,from Doug Fisher's comments the nearest thickness for the lower one may be selected from the thicknesses available.
