I expect there was little time to put a binding contract together in those early days...
I've been involved with several startups that have made the same kind of loose, non-binding agreements due to a lack of time, money, and business expertise, or a combination of the three. It's common and risky in equal measure, and occasionally works out alright. I'm glad Ferrania has survived the painful mishaps so far.

I was too involved in a couple startups and we too had these kind of agreements. Sometimes it helped us a lot, sometimes it came back to bite us, I think was is important now is that Ferrania made it to move on.

I find it foolish that they did reply on TWO. (BTW I am not being negative, no pun, but I find it hard to take a business seriously if they make such simple poor judgements. It is does not build confidence)

both the principle players are from the Motion Picture Business, one a film maker, and one a lab operator. Informal agreements and flexability are the only way some Movies get made, so I suspect that they were thrown off when things that they thought we set, turned out not to be set.

I want to order some but how do we know it won't get x-rayed, entering the country?

presumably they have planned for that. (my fingers are crossed that they have planned for everything). - as David Bias mentioned, the site is running under Shopify so they have all the logistics details to know how to route orders.

People around the world order photographic film and paper from foreign countries.....I believe we're yet to hear of someone getting a delivery that was ruined by customs or post office x-rays.

Here's hoping the UK is able to order after Christmas...when i have some money!

So today I finally made to develop a roll of Agfaphoto CT Precisa dia film made by Ferrania (the made in Italy one with the yellow boat),

Wait... what?! I never knew there was a CT Precisa that was actually made by Ferrania... Didn't "Agfaphoto" appear much after the demise of Ferrania?

BTW Years ago i used "TURA Chrome 100", made in germany, that in theory was Agfa-made. Interesting color palette, a bit more muted, but i did like the results.

Also before the UK leaves the EU and we (may) have to pay extra tax on imports.

BTW, the Ferrania website and Twitter wrote on 3 Dec:
To all of our Kickstarter Backers: please check your inbox for a new update.

I have not received such an email - have people here actually got it? Is it worth worrying about? Thanks.

Beleive that was the one pointing at the video. if you did not get it, you PROBABLY should make sure that you use the "contact us" on there web site to ensure your information is up to date in their Data base.

I got the mail. They basically said they will maintain contact on their own and not via Kickstarter, and I think there was a link to a page to update your information.
They also had a link to their video page, which they intend to keep active.

Yep I received the email that others have described. Might be worth checking your contact details are correct if you want to receive more...and bookmark their page. If you use Facebook there is a Film Ferrania page there which sometimes gets updates all of it's own...and a P30 user group.

So as far as I could reconstruct:
AgfaPhoto CT Precisa 100 "made in Leverkusen", with diamond red logo, red box with yellow boat
AgfaPhoto CT Precisa 100 "made in Italy", with dot red logo, red box with yellow boat, which AFAIK is the Ferrania film
AgfaPhoto CT Precisa 100 "made in Japan", with dot red logo, red box with colored beach huts, the one that was discontinued in 2018

This is an example of the first case, the "original" CT 100. AFAIK Also Lupus/Agfaphoto Vista was originally made by Ferrania. Maybe AgX know a more on this topic!

AFAIK Also Lupus/Agfaphoto Vista was originally made by Ferrania.

That is correct. After the orginal "Made in Germany" (Agfa, Leverkusen) Vista film stock had depleted, Lupus Imaging / AgfaPhoto switched to Ferrania as their film supplier.
And when the Ferrania made stock depleted after Ferrania's market exit Lupus Imaging switched to Fujifilm as their supplier.
Vista 200 was then relabelled Fujicolor C200, and Vista 400 was relabelled Superia X-Tra 400.

Best regards,
Henning

Abruzzi, looks like it isn't Alpha. How'd you get it in the US?

yup, I ordered direct. I've got some freshly mixed D-76 (I figure to begin with I'll follow their recommendation, and according to the data sheet, D-76 is one of the two developers that they tested in-house, and I don't have any D-96), so I'm looking forward to it.

It was posted earlier in the thread (see post #604)

EDIT: having loaded a roll in my F2, I’ll add that the rolls are standard metal cassettes—not the reusable plastic cassettes that a few companies use, they have a memo place on the roll label, but the labels don’t have DX coding. Other than the DX coding, the packaging and presentation looks nice and professional.

The P30 Alpha also came in metal cassettes with a professional looking label and no DX code. I shot two rolls and developed in D76....one at 80ASA and the second at 50ASA. I followed the "best practice". Both rolls yielded good negatives but I did feel that 50ASA was more appropriate. However I am sure that with a little more experimenting the perfect technique can be obtained.
