Hello,

I just recently joined this site and I am amazed at the wealth of great info to be found here.

I bought a fantastic old Agfa Standard from the 1930s for about 25 bucks that originally took 9x12cm plates, and unfortunately I only have the ground glass focusing screen and no plate holders. I am delving into the tintype process and I am hoping to try calotypes as well, and I would love to be able to use this camera. I found a graflex film pack adapter at a yard sale and I am going to get some gaff tape and try to macgyver my way to a solution, but I would really like to have several holders for this camera if possible to make tintyping on location more practical.

I have tried ebay, but are there any other resources I may have over looked?

Thanks
Jason

Look a the sticky post in this sub-forum regarding the different 9x12 holders. Unfortunately there was no standard fit, although the actual plate then film size itself are standard.

I've bought about 20 plate holders over the past 18 months and you have to just take a chance they will fit sometimes. All mine have come from Germany or neighbouring countries.

There's usually quite a few on Ebay, but Ebay doesn't always map across properly so it's also worth checking Ebay.co.uk and Ebay.de just search for 9x12 in the photographic sections. The Ebay login is Global so it's the same User name & password regardless & a common "Watch this item" database, they all run off the same US servers in Denver anyway.

Welcome to APUG BTW
