Imagine if you will...

You're leaving on a shooting trip. You're presently all out of film and must restock before you go. You will not be able to restock while traveling.

You can only pick one of these films for your trip (don't worry, there are two other parts to this story, you will be able to pick some other films as well).

I am just starting out in LF, but from my 35mm experience I know that having a film that you KNOW well and have tested is more important than having a film with great specs (or a film that gives great results for others). So, I will choose the film I know best - Arista.edu Ultra 100 / Fomapan.

Wephota NP22 is same as Foma 100/Arista Edu Ultra 100

edit: and Np27 is Fortepan 400 and NP15 is Efke PL 25

How to rate films is a whole 'nother can of worms. I'd have listed everything in a single poll and asked people to pick two or three but polls a re limited to 10 items and I think the splits are fine under the circumstances.

Done, for this one (I've also adjusted the vote tally to reflect the change). I'll see if I can hunt down the others.

No wonder it's so hard to keep track of Wephota--they're sourcing film from three different factories.

This is an easy question! FP4 devloped in Pyrocat is all I use in 4x5. I have been shooting this combination for several years and it does everything I want and never disappoints.

FP4+ gets my vote. But at the moment I'm still using Agfa APX 100 while my stocks last - in 9x12cm and 13x18cm. It avoids a little of the confusion, since my colour film is all in 4x5" (and 13x18cm, but I don't use 13x18 colour and BW on the same trip: I use 5x7" FP4+ if I also carry 13x18cm colour).
