Using a circular florescent ceiling fixture, I cobbled a back/lightsource to convert one of my 4x5's into an enlarger. After lots of trial and error, I'm able to print normal to high contrast negs on Ilford MG fibre satisfactorily. The filtration (using 6X6 color printing filters) is in the area of 80 Y + 0 M, though. Exposures are on the long side, as well. I'm able to increase contrast in flat negs by dropping minimal Y values and introducing a little M.
Having been out of the lab for decades, would it be true still, that graded paper (by the same manufacturer) would eliminate the filtration? Does color temp affect graded papers now?
