Hey all,

I just got a Brownie movie camera from a local thrift store, and bought another one on eBay. I'm very interested in shooting 8mm film and developing it. Can anyone speak to the feasibility of developing the film, and links or videos on how-tos?

Or, as Wal-Mart can send out Kodachrome for developing, can they also send out 8mm movie film?

If you want to process yourself look out for the Russian spiral tanks capable of taking up to 50ft depending on model.

I have one for standard 8mm/double 8mm / 16mm. However have never tried it and the spiral looks fun to load (it loads from the inside out).....

Those russian spiral tanks are incredibly expensive. I suppose that's to be expected since LOMO makes (made) them.

Does anyone know if Wal-Mart can send out B&W 8mm film as well? I Know Dwayne's can't process it, so they'd have to send it somewhere else.

Morse model G3

You can do double-8/16mm and 35mm up to 100 feet. It even has a window for the reversal exposure.

From what I've heard of the G-3, most people who try it eventually move on to the Lomo tank. I too have been a bit intimidated by the prospect of loading it, but one of these days, I'm going to do it.

Meanwhile, there are labs that handle the film. I usually use Pac-lab, because it's local to me.

I'll probably just send it off to a lab. Yale sells the film and processing together for $25. I'll email them to see if they give student discounts.

yes walmart will send it to dwaynes, and dwaynes sends it out ( or does it themselves ) i think it still costs $4.88.
you can also buy the film from, and have it processed through prep film in michigan.

I have no idea if they are still made, but there must be used ones around.
