B&W and B&W IR films

Well, I ended up buying two rolls of the Ilford B&W /IR. I know it's not true IR, but with summer coming I just want to play around with it. I got it from B&H, so I'll see what happens.I have a 720 filter so I figure that is adequate to get some kind of odd image.

Ilford says that SFX-200 is sensitized out to 740 nm. Your choice of filter should be based on this fact. A Wratten 88A opaque IR filter has a cutoff at 720 nm and would not produce much of an image with this film. You need to do some more reading on IR films and filters because you seem to be making some bad choices.

I happen to have a genuine Ilford gel filter sold I bought as part of an SFX200 bundle. Comparing it to a couple of cheap Chinese made glass filters, it looks to be a pretty close match to the R72. That said, I'd be more inclined to use a 680nm filter.
