Havent been able to develop my own color film in a month since B&H is out of stock and has not restocked in so long. Cant purchase in store, cant purchase online...so in my search for other options, I found the Unicolor powder kits on Freestyle's website and one on Amazon:

http://www.freestylephoto.biz/10123-Unicolor-Powder-C-41-Film-Negative-Processing-Kit-1-Liter
http://www.amazon.com/Ultrafine-Unicolor-Powder-Developer-Liter/dp/B00OU6LXUG

Does anyone know the differences between these vs Tetenal in terms of handling, usage, and how the colors/contrast comes out?

I just ordered a Unicolor kit from the Film Photography Podcast store. I've only used the Unicolor kit, so I can't compare, but I have been satisfied with it.

For about five years I have used the Unicolor C-41 Development kit. It is the only C-41 processing kit that I have used. I have had no problems with it and I get 12 to 16 rolls of film from each one liter kit.

I bought some C-41 kits from B&H a couple of years ago, and it wasn't even the brand they advertised on their web site. It said it was Tetenal, but what I actually received was Unicolor. That ticked me off to no end, and they didn't exactly handle my request for information very well either, when I wanted to find out what was going on.

I'd rather buy C-41 kits from the Film Photography Project or Freestyle, two online stores that have a tradition of supporting film photographers.

I've read Tetanal and Unicolor are the same thing under different name. I don't know if its true.

can you drive to NJ and buy it at Unique? You could have special ordered Flexicolor from B&H a month ago and you'd have it by now, or you could order it now and have it in 2-4 weeks

Unique sells Flexicolor chemistry 5 L at a time you will need the starters for the bleach and developer. I use the Flexicolor C-41 RA Bleach and fixer, much easier faster. You can replenish or make up tank solutions and use like the kits. I replenish, bleach goes twice as far as the developer and fixer. I WASH FOR 5 MINUTES AFTER THE FIXER, THEN DUNK IN THE FINAL RINSE, AS YOUR WOULD PHOTO-FLO .
BEST REGARDS MIKE
