Avedon inspiration

I came across this photo of Richard Avedon by John Loengard. What interests me about this shot is what he has on his wall. Newspaper clippings, reproductions of drawings and paintings (along with one of his own from In The American West). I assume all for inspiration and reference. It is always nice to see what makes great people tick.

There is a Paolo Roversi nude in the centre, just above the Matisse postcard.

Amazing. I took it for a drawing.

Avedon inspired me enough to put his picture behind my desk in my office about 30 years ago. Mine was an unsigned poster however. But it had a great effect on people visiting me.
