Availability of 620 film ?

Does someone know if there is a place in this world where someone can order 620 film from ? A friend just bought a Kodak camera and I don't think she's going to be able to cut and respool the 120 film without ruining it...

No need for 620.You have to find 620 film spool and transfer the 120 film to it starting carefully from the end of the film.I have 3 of them but need some more.If you find any pm me.

I believe there are a couple of sources, but would also point out, you don't have to cut, just respool -- not that such an operation would be trivial for someone who has never done it. I recently respooled a roll of Delta 100 to run through my old Brownie Target box camera. Wound it onto an empty 120, wound it back onto an empty 620, wasn't terribly difficult. I tried not to obsess over getting a slight bump where the taped end joins the backing.

Edit: B&H lists a remarkable assortment; there is a steep premium on the price however.

Some cameras just need a 620 spool in the take up slot and you can get a way with a 120 in the feed slot, some Hawkeye Brownies are like that amongst others.
The problem is if you don't have a 620 spool.
And, some cameras you can just trim the 120 spool ends to make them fit where the 620 spools go.
Sometimes there is no alternative but to use re-spooled 120 on 620 spools, if you have spare spools.

B&H sells 620 film much cheaper than some other places. So it may be worh buying a few rolls just to get the 620 spools. Try finding empty spools on the big auction site and they usually sell for a lot.

Dear friends, thank you all...

In fact, I hadn't realized that 620 film was of the same size as 120... I don't have the camera, my friend has it and I wasn't able to compare (this friend only shoots 35 and does not have any 120 film in her place)...

Now I know... she'll just have to respool... I think there is a 620 spool in the camera, so she won't need to find one.

George, be sure to keep any 620 spools you have or acquire. After shooting, you can respool to 120 and take this to the developer (assuming you dont develop yourself of course). Or ask the developer to PLEASE return the 620 spool(s) for you. I hope this helps you.

Be aware that the developer sometimes don't read the "special instructions" section. I have lost 620 spools because of this.
