I have just purchased a used Minolta AFT/2 slide projector. It is auto-focus. It is much like a Sawyer 600A auto focus I have except it's a little fancier. Nice Rokkor 2.8 lens etc. The Sawyer AF works well. The Minolta is squirrly. It kind of works but much of the time it's focus is just a little off and then it looks good. Sometimes the focus kind of pulses in and out of focus until one changes the slide. I know the theory behind AF projectors like this. First one focuse the first slide as perfectly as one can. That sets the standard by shining a light on the back of the slide and then down to a "receiver" which interprets the reflection and focuses the slide. Each slide after that seeks that "focused" standard.
There is a light on a plastic, adjustable mount, pictured below, which I assume is the way to adjust this when it isn't working as above, but I can't find the instructions on how to do that properly. This system is used in Sawyer a lot, Minolta, GAF and I've got a newer Vivitar 5000a that uses it too.
I have cleaned all the glass as well as I can lenses, the auto focus bulb and the lenses and receiver that the reflected light hits etc. All to no avail.
Does anyone know how to adjust it properly? Help
