This is from the endless horde of camera stuff I was helping to sell several months back for my 80-something year old neigbor Keith. He was promising me this little gem but since I handed the operation over to my cousin that deal has been forgotten. It would have been too hard to work with him after I moved from Utah to New Jersey and his memory ain't what it used to be
I'm only a little bitter but would feel better if someone from APUG ended up with with it. *Sigh* I had such plans for that camera...
Anyway, if an APUG member/subscriber wins the auction I will personally put 3% of the selling price into the APUG kitty.
Caveat: I know the owner and seller but won't profit from the sale in any way. The shutter also will need a CLA.
You're right, his listings are a little odd. At least his photo related ones are. Kinda looks like he's trying to get as much advertising as possible crammed into one little listing. Don't even get me started on his choice of typeface...
Oh yeah, Dave. Remember that Majestic tripod I sold you when I moved? Heh-heh...I just bought another one. Can't remember why I decided to sell the first one. My wife just shakes her head. Well, she would if she knew
The last time I looked at it (april/may) there was a ground glass. When you say fresnel I think of that plastic thing with rings that goes with the ground glass. Then again it's 5am and I'm not thinking straight.
Just email Jim with specific things to look for and he'll check it out or take pics for you.

Jim looks correct--there is an image from the back with the shade open. The camera is folded and you can see the back side of the lens directly. Pretty clear that the ground glass wasn't installed when he took the picture.
Like Matt say, the crown in the photos definitely is missing the ground glass.
I also think that the listing is a little more than strange. I'm pretty sure that it is in violation of the eBay rules...if it's not, it certainly is annoying. I'd be dis-inclined to bid on anything. Just my 2cents.
It is missing the ground glass, you would need to check it to see if it had a fresnel, many of them didn't and I don't see the bracket for the optical viewfinder, which is not all that unusual, I have owned a couple of them that didn't have one.
I think that the message here is that your cousin may not be presenting this camera at its best. He certainly appears to be trying--adding your information about the CLA on the shutter and all. But, the lack of the glass and all the extra information is likely to keep the camera from achieving it's highest bid.
Well, perhaps the best thing for you is if no one from the APUG community bids, so as to give you the best chance. Though I would be surprised if it gathers no bids. I'd guess it might not get more than one or two, however, given the missing ground glass, the shutter needing servicing and the start price.
Cosmetically it looks quite pretty.
Yes, I'm sure it will sell in the last couple of minutes from the auction. Don't get me wrong, if a member here wants it I'm not going to bid. Despite the missing parts the camera is super clean. and the glass on the lens looks like it's never been anywhere exept folded up in the camera.
Anyone here win this thing? I actually tried but it went over my bid with about one second to go. Not a bad snipe considering I put mine in at about 10 seconds to go.
