ATL 3 - more questions - only getting cold water

I have not had any luck so far on my other ATL 3 question, but here goes again.

I hooked it all up today and programmed a simple b&w process. Everything seemed to work as expected except that the machine seems to be drawing only cold water. I checked the tempered water supply and it is definitely at the right temperature, but when the machine fills up, the tempering bath is only cold water. It seems to be ignoring the tempered water input.

Any suggestions?

The machine will allways use cold water for filling, tempered water will only be used for the rinse cycles.
So, this is normal.

Thanks. I thought it might have been a blown fuse or something. I will give a run again today.

Here is a follow-up question: in this part of the world (Ottawa, Canada), the groundwater is pretttttttttty cold this time of year. I picture myself standing around for a long time waiting for that cold water to get to the proper temperature. If I filled it with warmer water before switching it on, at which point it would start to add colder water, would this screw up the program?

The ATL 3 is capable to heat up and cool down the water bath. If you priming your machine with tempered water, to maximum = spillover. The ATL will recognise this and according to your process settings adjust the temperature in "RUN" mode (heating oder cooling down with tap water). Avoid filling in water hotter then 122°F / 50°C, this will activate the overheating "fuse"!

The ground water here is around 11-12C so it takes about 20 minutes to heat up to 20C. I will fill the bath with tempered water before running the process to decrease that time.
