I posted a notice about an exhibit entitled "Paris in Transition" in another subforum, but I thought I'd just make a side note about seeing Atget's prints in person. Now, I was never terribly moved by his photos, having seen them in books. However, in person I was really impressed with how good they are. The prints often show an incredible amount of detail and great tonality. If you get a chance to see them at the National Gallery in D.C. or any other place, do it. You'll be happy you did.
