Selling an Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar 50mm 1.4 lens in very good condition. This is the 7 element version.

The aperture and focus rings turns smoothly and the glass is very clean with no haze or fungus. The lens comes with front and rear caps.

Asking $70 plus shipping. Payment via PayPal or Zelle. CONUS only, please.

The light through the lens looks slightly tea color. The 2 million serial number is low. Is this one of the Takumars with thorium elements? They have a reputation of superb optical performance for mid century lenses. My thorium 55 f/1.8 is excellent.

Yes, this is the 7 element version of the lens which contains Thorium elements.

You're right, the 50/1.4 and 55/1.8 are renowned for their optical performance. In fact most of the Super Takumars seem to be very highly regarded.
 
These are great lenses.I have a Spotmatic and a Pentax SL that came with the 50m ƒ1.4 and I de-yellowed both of them with UV light. The 50mm ƒ1.4 also works very well as a portrait lens on my Pentax K50 DSLR with its 1.5 crop factor.
