I won't try to read this blog. I was greeted by a popiup about cookies with two options:

• ACCEPT
• Or a long text explaining the purpose of the various kinds of cookies, with each time a different URL to visit to, hopefully, reject.

Put a REJECT ALL button next to ACCEPT and maybe I'll proceed.

I won't try to read this blog. I was greeted by a popiup about cookies with two options:

• ACCEPT
• Or a long text explaining the purpose of the various kinds of cookies, with each time a different URL to visit to, hopefully, reject.

Put a REJECT ALL button next to ACCEPT and maybe I'll proceed.

We have a very strict law over here in Germany concerning cookies/privacy. Unfortunately US-based Wordpress.com is giving a sh*t and does not offer more than this. Sorry!

I got the same response from the blog site as Bernard and I am in the U.K. Maybe Bernard is as well or at least is in the EU I had thought that anywhere in the EU there had to be a "reject all" button on all sites to cover the use of "cookies"

Does your quote mean that because Wordpress, is US based it has no need to offer a Reject All option and as long as it has control over the blog then we have to accept the cookies or we won't see the blog ?

If that is the case then I won't bother either. So it's a sorry from me as well

Unfortunately US-based Wordpress.com is giving a sh*t and does not offer more than this.

Wordpress is a platform that as you probably know supports a rather big ecosystem of plugins. I've not looked into it specifically, but there are several plugins available for managing 'cookie consent'. I expect that at least some of them offer features that go beyond what Wordpress offers out-of-the-box. Might be worthwhile looking into.

I assume that with two people highlighting it, we've sufficiently established the fact that this issue exists for those who are concerned by it, and the discussion can now again go back to the blog. And perhaps even more importantly, the photos featured on it.

Dear all, let me explain once again: My Blog is hosted at Wordpress.com, which is a commercial branch of Wordpress.org, the open-source blogging platform. It is like that because my blog exists since 2006, back then Wordpress.com was one of the only places to host a blog for free. It has so many backlinks that I won’t transfer it to somewhere else. Unfortunately Wordpress.com gives a damn to the EU laws and therefore I am not able to offer a better experience with the cookie consent. I am no able to install third-party plugins on Wordpress.com and this is the only solution they offer. As you can see on my business website which I host on my own webspace, I have a decent cookie consent system running. But this is a selfhosted Wordpress installation. I am sorry for your experience and hope you can enjoy my photos anyway. Regards, Till
