It used to be that Artcraft photo chemicals would put together photo developers etc according to the formula provided by the customer -- handy for those of us with curiousity about new formulations but lacking accurate scales or willingness to stock raw chemicals. (Yes, I know over time I'd amortize the cost of buying scales etc., but sometimes you just would prefer to have that part done for you!)

Artcraft now says they've stopped offering this service -- don't know why. Does anyone know of a chem supply house that would mix the formula and send it to me?

Do you mean they will no longer weigh out and bag up the constituent components for a recipe and sell them as a kit for the customer to mix?

I don't know if the Formulary will do a custom mix for you, but they handle a good many chems already pre-mixed and almost don't have to do custom stuff.

However, it's very easy to mix your own using the teaspoon method; no investment in scales! There is even a grams-to-teaspoon conversion chart in the "Darkroom Cookbook". I've been doing it this way for several years.

Someone gave me one of these years ago and I am a different photographer today as a result.

Good to 1/10th gram. One of the few items in the Galli garage that IS NOT 4 sale.
