Brigitte Bardot by Terry O'Neil - oh yes!
I love that Ernst Haas one too but disppointed to see it's a digital print - for that kind of money I'll not be bidding!

I am a collector of photographs and small artworks, paintings, sculpture, that sort of thing. I have a personal rule that I hope will defend my collection against possible adverse scholarship in the future: all works must be personally executed by the signatory. None of the Art Daily items have, at first sight, a provenance suggesting this condition is met. So no bids from me.

Many of the photographers credited are limited to camera clicking and their only contact with the pictures offered at auction is when the workshop 'phones them that the prints are ready. And could they come in at a convenient time and sign them?
I suspect some of the pictures have been produced posthumously. Some may be authentic personal productions. But there is not enough information on the Art Daily site for confident bidding.
The contemporary art market supports a very loose standard of attribution which is fine for billionaire bidders or agents spending somebody elses money. When I spend my own hard earned dosh I insist on rock solid provenance: the hand that signs is the same hand that makes the work.
Incidentally cliveh what do your own researches on these Art Daily pictures reveal? Or do you accept them on the auctioneer's say so.
