Arkay Dip and Dunk

I'm thinking of getting one the th Arkay Dip and Dunk film holders that holds 18 120 film reels. Anyone using these? I'm shooting more and more film and the thought of running it all at once in a big tank sounds intriguing, of course, there's always a chance that it will get totally screwed up!

Any positives or negatives based on your experience? Will this fit in a standard Kodak 8x10 Hard Rubber tank?

Used 4 35 mm on a lift rod with 4x5 rubber tank, lift and rotate 1/4 turn agitation. Works fine.

I once had a friend who was a very successful dog show photographer. When he had two shows back to back he would send all the B&W film shot at the first show which usually was 18 rolls. I would be called to his house and darkroom and develop all 18 rolls at one time using one of these racks. He had three stainless-steel 3 1/2 gallon tanks (dev., stop and fixer) and a 3 1/2 gallon wash tank that could be emptied in seconds and refilled. When he came home he would print the negatives which were dry and ready to be printed. I don't know about the inside dimensions of the Kodak 3 1/2 gal. tanks. I can only say the SS tanks worked beautifully. I think they were Arkay also........It has been years since then and he passed away years ago.....Regards!

I have done this for years, For large projects it is a fantastic way to process. I was the 2nd and 3rd year basket guy for my photography course years. Each day I would do all the
students film.

One thing is to be very careful with the way you bring out, drain, bring out drain , bring out drain. be precise and repeatable, as well a good tap at the bottom will disloge bubbles.

Once you get good at this you can also push and pull the film or use different films and times.

I still have a complete 35mm - 8 x10 kit here and would never think of getting rid of it.

use sheet film and you can start solarizing your film

btw its nice to here of someone shooting a lot of Black and White.

Yes the units I have fit into the hard rubber..

Tons of this equipment out there worth grabbing.
