I envy you. I lived in Chino Valley while running a construction project in Paulden, Az. in the late 80's, beautiful area. I would love to return if I could.

hi rick, we will be living in what i think is referred to as the “quad cities” area.

i will finally have time and energy to get out there and do all sorts of photography. will have time and space for a darkroom again!!!

had enough of the 10 1/2 months of alternating hot/ swampy houston texas weather...near endless streams of mosquitoes and living with approx 6,000,000 people and constant highway construction and all that goes with that...

spent a summer in chandler a long time ago and passed through/stayed over at flagstaff a number of times when i was 48-state commercial truck driving - soooo, that’s that.

prescott will put us midway between phoenix and flag. i think wifey and i will be happy living at 5,000 foot elevation and approx 46,000 population and a cross-town travel time of 15 minutes...

...and almost endless photography opportunities.

i also have h-d electra glide that needs to let loose out there☀️

hey, didn’t mean to ramble on here.

what part of the country are you in?

have a great day

I've lived in the Phoenix valley for 20 years now and visit Sedona, Prescott, and Flag pretty often. Not too sure about that "cross-town travel of 15 minutes" nowadays as Prescott has gotten pretty busy. No matter...you'll be living there so who really cares? Yes, lots of photo opportunities! Make sure you visit the Watson Lake / Granite Dells area often. I swear I could probably spend my entire photographic life just in that one area! Good luck with everything!!

I'm living (I suppose that's the proper term) in the Laurel Highlands of southern Penna. Karen and I were planning a road trip to Az. last year when everything went to hell, she's never been to the Four Corners area(my favorite place on the planet). Hopefully later this year we will be making the trek, but not any time soon. We are dealing with some health issued right now, and can't leave until the doc's give her the all clear (some radiation treatments upcoming now that she's post surgery). My favorite drive is rte. 89a from Flagstaff to Prescott.

good morning all!

* alan9940, hello again. posted a reply to your message over on LFP. we will be in prescott valley - that’s where i read the part about 15 drive across town - no doubt has grown since that info was posted.

your mention of watson lake/granite dells sounds good. seen some youtube video of it and wow it looks great.

there may be a pair of kayaks in our future for that area.

thank you for your welcome and considerate thoughts.
